Cannabis Could be the Best Aphrodisiac you’ve Ever Tried
Author: Sarah 07/11/2017 - 08:01:00

Next time you’re feeling a little slump in the sheets, don’t bother reaching for one of those blue pills. Cannabis could be the best aphrodisiac you’ve ever tried. Don’t just take my word for it; there is actual science to back this up.

People who Use Cannabis are Having More Sex

A recent study conducted by Stanford University showed that people who regularly smoke weed are getting it on more than their non-stoner counterparts. You’ve heard the saying “the couple that smokes together pokes together”, right? Maybe? No? Now there might actually be some truth to that. Researchers looked at the results of a survey of over 25 thousand Americans. They were asked, among other things, about their cannabis use and frequency of sexual activity. The results were pretty illuminating.

There’s Other Evidence Too

Researchers have been wanting to study cannabis’ effects as an aphrodisiac for decades. The above mentioned study was the first to directly deal with the subject, but researchers simply looked at results of survey data. A positive causal link hasn’t been found yet. Evidence that cannabis is an aphrodisiac is starting to pile up though.

Another study published last year in the journal of Pharmacological Research showed that people who used cannabis in any form prior to sexual activity experienced “aphrodisiac effects”. Researchers from University of Catania in Italy, and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic looked at studies conducted during the seventies and eighties, including the original conducted by Erich Goode in 1970. Again, a causal link hasn’t been found. I think it’s only a matter of time until one is found.

How Can Weed Help Your Relationship?

After you’ve been in a relationship for a while, things can get a little predictable, and well, boring. Cannabis is just the thing that could help the two of you reconnect. Weed spices up your day, you can use it to spice up someone else’s day too.

Cannabis is also great for making up. No matter how often you and your significant other fight, smoking a joint together will push all of that pent up resentment to the back of your mind, if not wipe it out entirely. Try it tonight instead of your normal routine. Surprise your partner with a fresh bowl when they come in through the door. Forget about work, school, and all the other shit that weighs on your shoulders throughout the day. Even if you don’t end up getting laid, at least you bonded with your partner. That will end up to more nookie.

Now the Fun Part

Now for the fun part: which strains are more likely to work as aphrodisiacs? First of all, steer mostly clear of sativas; they can cause anxiety and make you feel trapped in your own head.

Green Crack

Green Crack is a strain that will make you feel as though you are floating on top of the world, and I mean in the literal and the psychological sense. Despite the harshness of the name, Green Crack is known as a mood elevator and an energy booster. It’s one of the few sativas that doesn’t mess with your sex drive.

Skywalker OG

Skywalker OG is an indica that will relax and titillate you at the same time. You won’t feel any of the usual couchlock that comes with a lot of indicas, and none of the feeling of being trapped in your head, like some sativas. It’s an excellent pain reliever, which means it will make your body feel warm and tingly. You’re primed for some good sex!
