Robin Williams’ Son Hosts Luxury Cannabis Soirée
Author: Benjamin M. Adams  12/07/2017 - 19:48:00

A group of socialites quietly met in Pacific Heights for the San Francisco launch of Beboe, a luxury line of cannabis products. The event was hosted by Robin Williams’ son, Zak Williams, as well as a handful of leaders, entrepreneurs and cannabis heavyweights who discussed the future of cannabis in California.

The event was held at a private residence and thrown by Beboe co-founders Clement Kwan and renowned tattoo artist Scott Campbell. Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who pioneered cannabis decriminalization laws in the ‘70s, and former state assemblyman Rusty Areias attended the event. Others in attendance include industrial designer Yves Béhar, philanthropists Katie and Todd Traina, and many others. CULTURE contributor and long-time cannabis journalist and editor David Downs was also in attendance.

Williams has been busy watching his money grow, thanks to the cannabis industry. “I’m proud to be here as an investor in Beboe, at the cannabis Cotillion,” Williams jokingly told the San Francisco Chronicle, referring to the wealth of attendees. “You know cannabis has arrived when it’s at a party in Pacific Heights.”

Beboe has been dubbed the “the Hermès of Marijuana” by the New York Times. The company is named after Campbell’s grandmother, Be Boe, who suffered from cancer and experienced relief from edibles. The cause for the celebration varied—it was Kwan’s 40th birthday, the 50th anniversary of the “Summer of Love” in San Francisco in 1967 and also the official launch of Beboe products in the Bay Area.

Cannabis products and companies have been working their way into mainstream media for some time now. Similar parties hosting both celebrities as well as cannabis industry leaders show that cannabis has a promising future in the business world.
