Police claims to have seized more than 1.4 kilos of cannabis during a raid on a Lindendale property last week have drawn criticism from readers of the Force’s own Facebook page.

In a media release last week, police said they had seized ‘1.4 kilograms of cannabis, two large cannabis plants and a .22 calibre revolver cylinder and arrested two people during a raid on a property in Lindendale on Thursday’ (June 7).

But the photograph of one of the plants posted on the NSW Police Facebook page (pictured right) drew derision from commenters, one of whom called it ‘one very sad looking plant. Looks almost like a stick.’

Another commenter wrote: ‘1.4 Kilos !?!? That’s the whole plant, roots with dirt and all, not dried. The usable content ( the buds/heads ) might be 1 or 2oz when dried.’

According to the police report, officers from Richmond Police District – Target Action Group executed a search warrant at a residence on Lindendale Road, Lindendale at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

Two people at the property, a 51-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, were arrested and taken to Lismore Police Station.

They were charged with deemed supply cannabis, take part in the cultivation of cannabis and possess cannabis. The man was also charged with possession of a firearm part.

Both were granted bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on Monday 9 July 2018.
